Florida moved up one spot to No. 5 in this week’s AP men’s basketball Top 25 poll.
The Gators (5-1) did not play this past week but moved up based on prior No. 5 Notre Dame’s loss at No. 3 Michigan state.
Florida will begin a stretch of three games this tonight against rival Florida State (9 p.m. ESPN2) at the O’Connell Center. The Gators will then play Loyola-Chicago at home on Wednesday and No. 17 Cincinnati on Saturday at the Never Forget Tribute Classic in Newark, N.J.
Florida is at its highest ranking since being ranked No. 1 entering the 2014 NCAA Tournament.
The Gators are the highest ranked of four SEC teams in the AP Top 25, a list that includes Texas A&M (7), Kentucky (8) and Tennessee (24). Duke remains the unanimous No. 1 in the poll, which can be viewed here.
