Florida moved up one spot to No. 7 in this week’s AP men’s basketball Top 25 poll.
The Gators (3-0) capped off a three-game homestand with a 70-63 win over New Hampshire on Sunday night. Florida had posted back-to-back 100 point outings in a 116-74 win over Gardner-Webb last Monday and 108-68 win over UNF on Thursday.
Florida will get some stiffer tests this week when it travels to Portland, Ore., for the PK80 Basketball Tournament. The Gators begin play there Thanksgiving night against Stanford (10 p.m., ESPN2) and could face either No. 17 Gonzaga or Ohio State on Friday night. A possible meeting with No. 1 Duke could loom Sunday if Florida wins its first two games.
Florida is the highest ranked of four SEC teams in the poll this week. Kentucky is at No. 8, followed by Texas A&M at No. 16 and Alabama at No. 25.
