No. 1 Gators host USF for three-game series

The No. 1 Gators continue to ride the longest season-opening winning streak in school history into a three-game baseball series with South Florida (5-7) this weekend. Florida (13-0) is one of four remaining undefeated teams in Division I.

Florida’s pitching staff is one of the nation’s stingiest, as it enters the weekend ranked 22nd nationally with a 2.45 earned run average. The bullpen is also riding a streak of 21.2 consecutive scoreless innings, and boasts a season ERA of 1.56.

All three games this weekend will stream live on SEC Network+, via the ESPN app. All three games also are on the Gators Radio Network.

Saturday vs. South Florida

  • Foul Ball for Queso – If a fan catches a clean foul ball out of the air with no deflections, everyone in attendance will win free queso!
  • Section Wars – Two sections will compete against each other for the chance to win a prize courtesy of Domino’s.
  • Military and First Responders – All military members and first responders, active and retired, may purchase half-priced GA tickets.
  • Seniors – All senior citizens, ages 55 and older, may purchase half-priced general admission tickets while supplies last.

Sunday vs. South Florida 

  • Giveaway – Digital wristwatch to the first 500 fans in attendance
  • Community Anthem – Kids (12 and under) can stand on the field next to their favorite Gators during the National Anthem! Sign-ups for this are on the third base side in autograph alley, beginning at 12 p.m. Sign-ups end at 12:30 p.m.
