No. 2 Florida visits Jacksonville

Florida’s No. 2-ranked baseball team, fresh off an opening-weekend sweep of Marshall, faces Jacksonville (1-2) in a pair of 6 p.m. mid-week games, the first today on the road, followed by a return trip to McKethan Stadium on Wednesday.

The Gators scored 34 runs on 34 hits opening weekend, accounting for the third-highest run total in a season-opening series in coach Kevin O’Sullivan’s tenure. Florida ended the weekend ranked fourth nationally in home runs (seven) and 10th nationally in slugging percentage (.606). UF also drew 23 walks, helping it climb into the top 20 nationally in on-base percentage (.454).

Tuesday’s game will stream on ESPN+ and can be heard on AM-850, 98.1-FM, while Wednesday’s game will stream on SEC Network+. Both streams are accessible via the ESPN app.

The Gators will throw freshman lefty Hunter Barco, while JU will pitch righty Mike Cassala (0-1).
