Gators among national favorites as practice starts

Florida began baseball practice Friday ranked in the Top 15 of various preseason rankings.

To wit: The Gators were ranked No. 14 in the Collegiate Baseball’s Fabulous 40 NCAA Division I poll that came out last month; No. 10 in the USA Today Sports Preseason Coaches Poll released Thursday and No. 4 by both Baseball America and D1Baseball and No. 13 by Perfect Game in rankings released over the past week.

Florida has been ranked in Baseball America’s Preseason Top 25 for the 11th straight year under head coach Kevin O’Sullivan, and this is the ninth time the Gators are in ranked in the top 10.

Florida opens the season Friday, Feb. 14 against Marshall at McKethan Stadium. Season tickets and Flex Passes for 2020 Gators Baseball and the final season at McKethan Stadium are on sale now and can be purchased online through or by calling the Gator Ticket Office at 1-800-34-GATOR from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
