Florida sophomore Wil Dalton was named the SEC Player of the Week, the Southeastern Conference announced Monday.

Dalton is the third UF baseball player to be honored this season. JJ Schwarz was named SEC Co-Player of the Week last week and Jonathan India was the SEC Player of the Week on April 2.

Last week, Dalton, of Spring Hill, Tenn., had just five hits but he made them count, racking up 10 RBI in four games:

  • He totaled nine RBI in two wins at Kentucky with two three-run homers and a three-run triple
  • Four of his five hits went for extra bases: three HR and a triple
  • He hit three home runs, bringing his season total to a league-leading 15
  • Dalton also now leads the SEC with 45 RBI on the year

The top-ranked Gators are back in action against Mercer on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at McKethan Stadium. Florida hosts Auburn for a three-game series beginning Thursday at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.

The start time for Saturday’s series finale between Florida and Auburn has been changed to 2 p.m. The change is due to travel considerations for the Tigers.

Friday’s game will start at 6:30 p.m.
