Florida freshman guard and Gainesville native Tre Mann will enter the 2020 NBA draft, the school announced Sunday. Mann will retain his eligibility, giving him an option to return to Florida prior to next season if he so chooses.
Labeled a potential lottery pick prior to the season, Mann struggled initially last season before finding his footing by SEC play, although he would finish the year averaging just 5.3 points and 1.9 rebounds in 29 games.
Mann’s decision to depart the program not only comes on the final day for underclassmen to declare – rather it’s the second Gators point guard in the span of several hours to test the professional waters after Andrew Nembhard opted to once again enter the NBA Draft. Although the possibility remains that one, if not both, will return to the program before next season, the decisions leave Tyree Appleby as Florida’s lone true point guard on the roster next season.
Jeff Goodman was the first to report Mann’s decision.
