Florida’s SEC basketball schedule for 2020 includes annual series against Georgia, Kentucky and Vanderbilt and rotational series vs. LSU and Ole Miss, the league announced Tuesday.

Home games bookend the SEC schedule as the Gators tip off in Gainesville vs. Alabama on Jan. 4 and wrap the regular season against Kentucky on March 7. After the opener, January includes visits to South Carolina, Missouri and LSU and home dates vs. Ole Miss, Auburn and Mississippi State, in addition to the previously announced SEC/Big 12 game vs. Baylor on Jan. 25.

February takes the Gators to Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Kentucky and Tennessee, while UF hosts Georgia, Vanderbilt, Arkansas and LSU. Florida plays its final road game of the season at Georgia on March 4 before the regular season finale vs. the Wildcats.

Florida fans experience one of the nation’s most entertaining schedules every season and will see the Gators compete against 2019 NCAA Tournament teams at least 12 times in the regular season overall, including seven contests at the O’Connell Center.

The Gators have played a top-20 rated schedule (via KenPom) all four seasons under coach Mike White and are poised to do so again in 2019-20.

Florida returns a trio of experienced young starters this season in Keyontae Johnson, Noah Locke and Andrew Nembhard, who are joined by a top-10 freshman class and the nation’s most sought-after graduate transfer in Kerry Blackshear Jr. The Gators are one of 10 teams nationally to record at least one NCAA Tournament win each of the past three seasons.

  1. Now ”announce” that the court will be named after ”Billy Donovan.” It’s way past the time! Regardless of Billy’s job now, it’s ”TIME TO RECOGNIZE!” As I can hear Mick Hubert saying it in my head, ”Well folks, welcome to the Exactech Arena/Billy Donovan Court at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center, as the Florida Gators Men’s Basketball team takes on…”
Coach Spurrier ”got his,” now is the time for Billy ‘D’ to ”get his,” too!
    Go Gators!

    • I’m with you, gi. Billy D may be the best coach in any sport in Gator history. He’s without a doubt in the conversation. I know UF is a football first school, but because of him it’s also a basketball school. Name the court after him now, and erect a statue later. Good work on scripting Mick’s intro!

Nice to have UK in the O-Dome for the final game. Can you imagine what it will be like if that game decides the regular season SEC champion? GG! JWB!

      • Amen, Cool Joe! And the O’ Dome would be ROCKING for a season ending ”regular season championship” on the line vs. U.K., no doubt! And it would be even more awesome ‘IF’ the court is named after Billy ‘D’ that same game, too.
And thanks for the support Cool Joe!
