Florida picked up a commitment Friday from a highly recruited defensive tackle out of Oakdale (CT.) St. Thomas More High.

Lamar Goods, a 6-foot-4, 290-pound defensive lineman, verbally committed to UF’s 2020 class just two days after backing off a pledge to Kentucky.

Gators coach Dan Mullen later confirmed Goods’ commitment via his Twitter account.

Goods took an official visit to Florida on June 14, opting to de-commit from the Wildcats just several days later. Ranked the No. 31 defensive tackle in the 2020 class by 247Sports, Goods, a native of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada, is the fourth defensive lineman to commit to Florida’s 2020 class.

With Goods’ commitment, which is non-binding until he signs a letter of intent, the Gators have 14 commitments in the current recruiting cycle.

  1. Very pleased that Lamar Goods will be joining the Gator football team. He obviously has good size to be a DT and from what I read, he is quick for his size. After he goes through Coach Nick Savage’s strength and conditioning program, Lamar should be able to contribute immediately, which is great! GO GATORS!!!
