Florida landed a commitment from a 6-foot-8 tight end out of Jefferson College in Jefferson County, Missouri.

Lucas Krull, who signed to play baseball with Arkansas in 2016, announced his decision Thursday night to sign with the Gators.

Krull will be eligible to compete with Florida for the 2018 season, where he will have three seasons of eligibility remaining. Krull took an official visit to Florida on June 1, telling The Sun he planned on deciding between Missouri, Kansas State and Florida.

UF coach Dan Mullen acknowledged Krullโ€™s commitment on Twitter.

Krull becomes the 22nd member of Floridaโ€™s 2018 class, and heโ€™ll enroll for the Summer B session.

  1. He will be able to outjump any defensive back especially when we have the ball inside the 20 and need a play for an end zone TD. Nice! No linebacker will be able to keep up with him either when they slip him up the middle.

    • And the closest thing to proven TEs are gone at the end of the 2018 season. In fact, you will notice that there is a theme with these transfers. The DE pickup Gators recently had. He has pretty good playing time and should find field this year but he will really be utilized next year to bridge the talent gap after we lose most of the DL.

This is how you make up for roster issues from the previous administration.. rather than just complaining about it. The level of competence exuding from the HC position is making me giddy. I just hope he has the cure for our Tebow Curse — both on the field and on these boards.

  2. Hey Tebow curse dude:
    Cross back into reality.
This is a UF FANS website and people will get excited by new recruits.
It is NOT a political website.
Since the athlete in question is six foot eight it is
reasonable to assume he will be able to do some good things with his size.

  3. Well 6’6″ 259,lbs. I would take that any day inside the red zone! So that curse point are need to go away back to fsu, anyway it a great weapon to have just like last have in big boy league! So with the speed and hopefully a taller WR with KO KRULL THAT HIS NEW NICKNAME INSIDE THE RED ZONE! THINK BIG STOP BEING SO LAME! YOU HAVE ONE OF BETTER OFFENSIVE MINDED COACH IN NCAA SO THINK UP! YOU KNOW COACH JUST HAD A GRIN FRON DAD TO EAT WHEN HE GOT THAT CALL! YOU PUT HIM ON INSIDE SLIP OUT DAVIS,CLEMENT,LEMMONS, WHAT A SCORING PUNCH! OR A IT’S KNOCKOUT KRULL TIME!! WAKE UP GATOR NATION IT IS 78 DAYS AND A WAKE-UP TO KICK-OFF THE SEASON!๐ŸŠ๐ŸŠ๐ŸŠ๐ŸŠ๐ŸŠ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ!!!!!

      • id be happier if the guy really is 6’6″, particularly if he is a two sport athlete, which I see as a huge positive imo. Also, with him being a little older that means time has given us additional clues of what will happen. sometimes an 18 year old may get sidetracked by life so to speak, but at 20 you can see if he can handle things like girlfriends, college life, ability to contribute without being a big star, etc. that can be an issue. 2 years between snaps is a long time, but it could be good in terms of healing from small injuries and maybe the next year he wont be on the field anyway. seems like the biggest guys have a little more fragility risk. often the guys turn out to be a little smaller than the newspaper says anyway. you keep adding guys like this, along with the transfers, and what the newspaper was calling a top 15 class is now pushing top 7 or 8…while it may seem like there are too many tight ends, I’m sure the coaches know what they need, maybe this player or other TES get on the field somewhere else.

  4. Finally, recruiting is starting to show results! Welcome aboard, Lucas! Mullen needs to keep the studs coming. Our rivals have been crushing us on recruiting trail and itโ€™s time fortunes change!
