Jeremiah Moon entered Friday’s visit to Florida as one of the recruits on commitment watch.

The Hoover, Alabama, linebacker was last prospect to leave UF after Friday Night Lights, but told the Sun he didn’t make his pledge.

After staying overnight in Gainesville, Moon returned to campus Saturday and pulled the trigger, giving the Gators four commits from FNL.

Florida landed offensive lineman Brett Heggie, defensive back Quincy Lenton and 2017 wide receiver Daquon Green on Friday.

“I want to stay in the South,” Moon said. “I love the coaching staff and I love being able to play in this type of environment.”

The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder was offered by the Gators last month after camping at UF and has built a strong relationship with coaching staff since.

“They told me I’m really wanted here,” Moon said. “They were just waiting for me to say the word.”

Moon is rated a four-star recruit by 247Sports, ESPN and Scout. He chose Florida over Auburn, Mississippi, Mississippi State and South Carolina, among other schools.

“It was a good visit,” Moon said of his trip to UF. “I toured the academic facilities and drove around campus. I really liked it. It’s a beautiful place.”

The Gators now have 17 members in their 2016 class. Verbal commitments are not binding until prospects sign their national letters of intent.
