Ole Miss 62, South Carolina 55: Maybe I spoke too soon. South Carolina, behind back-to-back 3-pointers from sophomore guard Ramon Galloway, has cut the Ole Miss lead to seven points with 1:23 left.
Ole Miss 62, South Carolina 49: With 2:03 left, looks like Ole Miss will be moving on Friday to face No. 16 Kentucky in Friday’s quarterfinals. Ole Miss upset Kentucky on a 3-pointer at the buzzer from senior Chris Warren earlier this season.

Ole Miss 50, South Carolina 39: Rebels starting to pull away by scoring points in transition. With 11:46, there’s still time for South Carolina to come back, but Gamecocks must tighten up on the defensive end of the floor.
Ole Miss 45, South Carolina 34: Ole Miss point guard Chris Warren starting to heat up. Maybe it’s the beard. Warren leading all scorers with 16 points, has scored nine in the second half.

First half stats of note: South Carolina outrebounded Ole Miss 26-19. Gamecocks with 12 offensive rebounds, but only 7 second-chance points. Ole Miss freshman Dundrecous Nelson led all scorers with 9 points. Both teams combined to shoot 7-25 from 3-point range.
Ole Miss 30, South Carolina 26 (halftime): Give South Carolina credit for not folding up after falling behind by double-digits early. Ole Miss, on the other hand, really missed a chance to blow the game open.

Ole Miss 7, South Carolina 5: This one is as ugly as expected. South Carolina senior center Sam Muldrow missed a wide open dunk. I guess that’s why Muldrow is SEC defensive player of the year. After two quick early South Carolina baskets, Ole Miss has scored seven straight points.
