Final, Alabama 65, Georgia 59 (OT): Does this mean Alabama is in. Rallied from 14 down to beat Georgia for the second time. If they were first four out doesn’t this mean they are now first four in? And does Georgia go from last four in to first four out? It will be interesting Sunday.

:18.7: Wow, Georgia misses three close range shots and Alabama gets the rebound. Chris Hines hits 1-of-2. Then Bama makes another big defensive play at the other end. Tide now up by five.

1:16: Tony Mitchell, who had been quiet all night, hits a huge three from the top of the key to put Alabama up 62-59. Kentucky fans just want this game to end so their boys can take the court.

1:54: Charvez Davis was begging referee Tom Eades for a time-out because he couldn’t move because of cramps. Georgia didn’t take advantage and instead turned it over. Tied at 59. Here we go.

3:06 in OT: Thompkins now has 19 to go along with Leslie’s 24. That’s 43 of Georgia’s 57. But Green keeps making free throws. He has 19 points now. Tied at 57.

OT: Sorry, wireless must have gotten excited at the finish of this one and died. I’m back in overtime because Alabama made a furious comeback and tied the game with four seconds to go. Mark Fox called a mysterious time-out with .8 seconds to go and Thompkins air-balled a last-second shot. Georgia gets a Thompkins basket in OT to go ahead and JaMychal Green hits a pair of free throws to tie it. Hold on folks.

3:35: Dogs miss two front ends of one-and-ones giving Tide hope and JaMychal Green scores twice to cut the lead to seven. Still some life in the Tide. This game has been painful to watch. The only bright spot is that I’m sitting next to Kevin Grevey on press row. He’s Kentucky’s Legend. Do they ever run out?

5:39: This is the way it has been going for Alabama. Tony Mitchell misses a dunk rebound on one end, Alabama gets the rebound and turns it over and Travis Leslie gets a dunk on the other end. Now 15 turnovers for the Tide and they trail by 13.

7:59: Gee, another Alabama turnover. That’s 13 for the Tide. They trail 44-34. Not a lot of scoring in this game but Leslie and Thompkins have 30 of the Bulldogs’ 44.

11:24: Time counting down on Tide’s NCAA hopes. Under-12 time-out sees them down 40-32. Jeremy Price shooting free throws when we come back. Alabama’s defense has been good but its offense has been terrible. NCAA dudes watching this know they aren’t watching a tournament team. But there are almost 12 minutes to play. Let’s see what Anthony Grant’s team is made of.

13:33: Tide gets close and then falls back. Too many turnovers and missed opportunities. They trail 40-30. Leslie now with 21.

16:46: Travis Leslie keeps answering Alabama scores. He has 19 now. Georgia up 38-28. Georgia fans are not happy with officials, who have made two straight questionable calls to send JaMychal Green to the line where he made three of four. He has the weirdest shooting motion on his free throws. Really spins it.

Start of second half: The pro-Kentucky crowd erupted in cheers during halftime … when the band and cheerleaders walked in. Hey, this is their football. Alabama trails by nine despite blocking six shots. Tide shot 33 percent and were outrebounded 18-13. JaMychal Green has six boards and six blocks but only four points.

Halftime: Georgia’s Gerald Robinson left the game briefly. He got hit where you don’t want to get hit during an Alabama fast break. The first half couldn’t have gone much worse for the Tide. They trail 30-21 despite Georgia missing a bunch of lay-ups. A late lay-up by Trevor Releford hung on the rim forever before falling off. The highlight of the day so far is Robert Horry being honored as the SEC Legend at the half. Leslie has 15 for the Bulldogs. More stats to come.

4:20: Alabama came out of the under-8 time-out playing inspired ball and tied the game. But the Dogs caught fire with threes from Gerald Robinson, Dustin Ware and Trey Thompkins. Bing, bang, boom it’s 28-19. And Bama is not a good come-from-behind team because of its shaky shooting. A little surprised at how few Alabama fans are here. I know they know the way.

7:30: Sorry but the wireless went down and wiped out my last entry. It’s 19-14 Georgia here and Travis Leslie has 13 of the Bulldogs’ points. He’s killing the Tide on drives to the baskets and free throws (5-of-5). Alabama is struggling to score as usual. NCAA life on the line, boys.

15:80 left in the half: Georgia scored the first six points of the game and led 8-2 before Alabama went on a 7-0 run by turning up the defense and getting to the paint. Boy, there have been so many air balls in this tournament. Anyone who doesn’t believe it’s different in a dome is crazy. Good number of Georgia fans here but it’s still a sea of blue as UK fans wait for their game.

Pre-game: I’ll be blogging throughout this big game although the wireless in the Georgia Dome is slower than Charlie Sheen trying to form a rational thought.

Talked to Greg McGarity before the game. The Georgia AD thinks his team is in good shape for the NCAAs but why leave loose ends? I think Georgia is in but if Alabama beats the Doggies twice and has a record in the SEC that is a lot better it creates a dilemma for the committee. Because I’m not sure a win gets Alabama in.

I’ll say this — I bet they are watching this game in Indianapolis hoping Georgia wins.
