An Ice seal believed to be a juvenile hooded seal rest along the shoreline at Wrightsville Beach, N.C. near the Oceanic Pier Friday September 15, 2006. Early morning beach goers were treated to the site of the juvenile seal for a few hours before members of the UNCW Marine Mammal Stranding program and workers from the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher came to remove the seal from the beach. The seal will be transported to the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center in Virgina Beach where researchers will try to discover why the animal beached itself so far south. Ice seals generally do not travel any further south than the waters off the Canadian coast but due to a loss of habitat because of global warming sightings of the seals are becoming more frequent in southern waters.

Omaha Steaks has been selling steaks at the city's Eppley Airfield since the late 1970's. New restrictions, put in place after an alleged plot to blow up U.S.-bound planes using liquid explosives forbid bringing aboard cold gel packs to keep the steaks frozen, so Omaha Steaks started offering free shipping, or a free cooler pack if customers buy $50 worth of steaks.
