Football season is over in Gainesvile. But we definitely have have something to cheer for/look forward to. WOW – our guys are ranked 7-8 in the polls and we’re getting a first place vote in the coaches poll. Our non-conference schedule has a few challenges, but all games appear to be winnable.
Anyone know our projected 2-deep?

Mike White is an impressive recruiter pulling in Locke and Nembhard. What a backcourt tandem for the future!
Very excited about this hoops season as we await the opening tip!

The basketball team is trending up, and the coach is panning out to have the “it” factor. Tall and strong players balanced with speed and quickness – which equates to exciting games. They should be very dangerous this year with a ton of potential. (P.S. for those who did not see the KY game last night, I did not see a hyper-dangerous group of freshman, even tho 5 true freshmen started the game. They were sloppy and frail. No muscle. Granted they will improve as the season matures, but they looked very vulnerable against an undermanned team from Utah something-or-other. In fact they were 9 down at the half.) Go gators!

“Three-Gor” tore it up Monday night!

As good of an opening game of the hoops season that I’ve seen at UF. Don’t go with the pre-season media pick of UK, this is the best team in the SEC right now.
I watched UK play Vermont this past weekend and they may have young burger boys, but they are nowhere near the team, or at the playing level of the Gators. They lit Gardner-Webb and the O’Connell Center up last night.
Veterans Chiozza, Allen, Hayes and Gak played well. Grad transfer Koulechov was the flame thrower, scoring 34 in just about every way possible. Hudson also looked good in his minutes. The freshman played beyond their years and added depth and fluidity to the scoring potential of a powerful and multi-faceted Gator offense.
Defense was very good at times (with the starters) but much work is still needed. It’s hard to imagine this offense ever having a problem getting buckets.
As good as the Gators played there is a lot of room for improvement from everyone except “Three-gor” Koulechov.

My goodness that was an amazing game to watch last night! 111-105 in double overtime! Duke up next on Sunday. Go Gators!

This team is going to be fun to watch this year. They can score; they seem to improving on defense; and they play well together. Mike White is doing an outstanding job.
Duke will be a tough test, but they have a chance.

What a game with the Zags! March basketball in November. Can you imagine this team with Egbunu back?
After one of the Gonzaga players started Gator chomping after a shot, I knew it was going to get serious. That was a home game for them with their fans. The Gators just clamped down and showed they’re going to be a force to be reckoned with this season
That’s just it, it’s November and win or lose against Duke, this is a very good team that’s only getting better.
We need everyone to stay healthy, especially Chris. So let’s save any body jeopardizing heroics for when it really counts later this season.

So, not sure what Duke’s injury situation is. My understanding is that 2 of our better players are injured and won’t be back until January at the earliest. Even though we apparently blew a fairly big lead. We took the #1 team in the country to the wire and we weren’t at full strength?!?
I’ll take that. I definitely like our chances to beat UK and win the SEC this year.

I agree. To be good enough to play that well with Duke speaks volumes
