Florida slot receiver Dre Massey appears fully recovered from the ACL surgery he underwent early last season. Although he’s not participating in any contact work this spring, he’s going through all the other drills and does not appear to have lost any speed or quickness, coach Jim McElwain said.
“I don’t see Dre Massey missing anything as far as step, quickness or speed or anything like that,” McElwain said.
McElwain said he’s also been pleased with the progress of two others who are practicing but being held out of contact — redshirt freshman cornerback C.J. McWilliams and true freshman linebacker James Houston.
“C.J. McWilliams has done some really good things for us at corner, and he’s up to 190 and whatever pounds, which is really good to see,” McElwain said. “James, at linebacker, is going through everything and there’s a need there (at linebacker).”
