UF Roundup: Field set for April 1 Gainesville Gymnastics Regional

The six-team field for the Gainesville Regional Gymnastics Championships is set: No. 3 Florida, No. 10 Georgia, No. 15 Missouri, No. 30 New Hampshire No. 33 Penn State and No. 35 North Carolina.

The regional will start at 4 p.m. in the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center. Go to Floridagators.com for ticket information.

The top two teams and the top two all-around competitors (who are not on an advancing team) from each region site advances to the NCAA Championships, set for April 14-15 at the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Mo.

WOMEN'S GOLF

Gators enter final round with lead

JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. – The Gators women's golf team is atop the leaderboard following the first two rounds of the Briar's Creek Invitational. Looking for its third straight win in the tournament, Florida posted a 13-under (563) on Monday, finishing with a 10-stroke lead over the 18-team field.

UF carded an 11-under (277) in Monday's first round, which ties the lowest team score in program history from the 2016 NCAA Regional.

Two Gators sit inside the top-five on the individual leaderboard. Both Maria Torres and Kelly Grassel stand in a tie for third place at four-under (140).Torres tied her collegiate-best round with a six-under (66) in the first round.

BASEBALL

Florida at Stetson

No. 11 Florida continues its road swing tonight at Stetson as the Gators look to win their first game away from McKethan Stadium.

Florida (13-8) will face Stetson (8-14) at 6:30 p.m. at Conrad Park in DeLand in the first of two meetings this season between the schools. The Hatters will make the trip to Gainesville on April 4.

Later this week, Florida hosts No. 5 LSU (17-5) for three games at McKethan Stadium.
