The Florida softball program is beginning a new era.

After back-to-back Women's College World Series championships in 2014 and 2015 and back-to-back SEC championships in 2015 and 2016, tickets for the 2017 season are on sale.

“We're very excited about having a ticket plan for the first time,” UF coach Tim Walton said. “This is something that our fans want and that our student-athletes are excited about.”

The charging of admission was inevitable considering the heights Florida has reached under Walton, who took over the reigns in 2006 and has led UF's rise to being one of the nation's elite programs.

Fans with a 2016 season softball card were able to order season tickets Tuesday.

All others can order them beginning today at the Gator Ticket Office, located on the West side of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday; over the phone at 1-800-34-GATOR or (352) 375-4683; or online at FloridaGators.com.

UF opens the season at the USF-Wilson Demarini Tournament in Tampa on Feb. 10-12 before hosting the Aquafina Invitational at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium on Feb. 17-19.

That will be followed by the Citrus Classic in Orlando on Feb. 24-26 and the Judi Garman Classic hosted by Cal State Fullerton on March 2-4.

UF will host SEC series against Missouri (March 11-13), Auburn (March 25-27), Georgia (April 8-10) and Mississippi (April 21-23) and six midweek games before closing out the regular season with a three-game series against North Texas and a single game against Florida A&M on May 5-7.

“The 2017 season is going to be another challenging schedule for us not only at home but on the road as well,” Walton said. “We play a lot of quality teams that includes not only NCAA Regional teams but Super Regional teams and World Series teams, both in and out of conference.”

Season reserved seats will be in Sections B, C and D (middle sections) and will cost $150 each (limit four per account). Each ticket will have a section, row, and seat number.

If available, single game reserved seats will be sold at $5 each. General admission bleacher seats ($3) and berm area tickets ($1) will also be sold, all at a later date.

UF students and children 12 and under will be admitted free, allowing them to sit in the berm areas.
