The Florida soccer team, a top seed in the region, plays host to Florida Gulf Coast on Friday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at Donald R. Dizney Stadium.

UF (15-4-1) is one of 32 programs hosting first-round action this weekend. The tournament schedule for the next four weeks is 1-2-1-2. First-round play is this weekend. The second and third rounds are Nov. 18 and 20 at eight campus sites. NCAA quarterfinal action will be Nov. 25, 26 or 27 on four campus sites with the Women's College Cup set for Dec. 2 & 4 at the Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Calif.

The Gators are making their 20th NCAA Championship appearance and 14th consecutive. Florida claimed one of the 31 automatic NCAA berths after winning the SEC Tournament title Sunday in Orange Beach, Alabama.

"We are really excited about being at home, especially after being on the road all of last week," UF coach Becky Burleigh said. "Florida Gulf Coast is a tough opponent. We seem to see them a lot and I think they are really well coached.

FGCU (14-4-1, 6-0-1 ASUN) is making its fourth trip to Gainesville for NCAA action. The Eagles lost to Florida in 2011 (3-0) and 2012 (2-0) in the first round. Last year, FGCU lost 2-0 to eventual NCAA runner-up Duke in the second round at UF's Dizney Stadium.
