TALLAHASSEE — The seventh-ranked Florida volleyball team defeated thirteenth-ranked Florida State 3-1 (27-25, 19-25, 25-22, 25-19) Wednesday night in the Fresh from Florida Sunshine Showdown at Tallahassee’s Tully Gym.
After Florida needed extra frames to win the opening set, the Seminoles (6-2) battled back to tie the match with a 25-19 win in the second set. Freshman Rachel Kramer’s seven kills and seven blocks helped the Gators take the final two sets to secure the match.
With the win, the Gators (7-1) conclude an eight-game road trip to open the season. Florida’s only loss was its season opener against No. 1 and defending national champion Nebraska.
