The top-five soccer match between No. 5 Florida at No. 1 Florida State was cancelled due to travel safety concerns in the aftermath of Hurricane Hermine. The match was to be played Friday at 7 p.m. at the Seminole Soccer Complex.
No make-up date has been scheduled at this time.
Florida (3-1) continues road action Sunday when it plays Oklahoma State (2-1-1) in Stillwater, Okla. Match time is set for 1 p.m. at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex. The two teams have met each of the last three seasons. The Gators have won each meeting, including a 3-2 overtime win in Gainesville in 2015.
The match can be heard on ESPN 95.3FM/850AM. It also will stream free at okstate.com/live.
Gators continue road swing
The No. 7 Florida volleyball team continues an eight-match opening road swing this weekend in East Lansing, Michigan, at the Auto-Owners Spartan Invitational with three games on the schedule – two Saturday, capped off by a finale Sunday at 3:30 p.m. against host Michigan State (3-0), which is receiving votes in this week's AVCA Top 25 Poll.
Florida (1-1) will first take on Central Michigan (1-2) at 10 a.m. Saturday at Jenison Field House, follow by a clash with Morgan State (0-4) at 4:30 p.m., marking the first time UF will play both the Chippewas and Bears in program history.
Spurrier at book signing Saturday
Former Florida football coach Steve Spurrier will sign copies of his book ("Head Ball Coach") from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the University of Florida Bookstore on campus.
