Singles service

First Missionary Baptist Church will host a Singles Night Out service.

It will be held from 7-10 p.m. Saturday at the church at 1515 SE 15th St.

It is for Christian men and women 18 and older and will focus on what the word of God says about living single.

Ushers anniversary

Emanuel Baptist Church will host its ushers anniversary service.

It will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church at 1203 NE 8th Ave.

The speaker will be the Rev. Keith Smith, pastor of the church. It will feature soloists and other special guests.

Birthday celebration

Miracle Word of Faith Ministry will host a birthday celebration service for those born in August.

It will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the church at 3809A E. University Ave. Refreshments will be served.

The speakers will be Prophet Virgil Moore and Evangelist Margaret Moore of Anointed Outreach Ministry in Ocala. The service also will feature two gospel groups.

District assembly

Church of God by Faith Inc. will host its Gainesville District Assembly.

Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 28-29, 6:30 p.m. Aug. 30 and 10 a.m. Aug. 31 at the church at 735 SE 15th St.

The services will be: Aug. 28, Centennial Celebration; Aug. 29, Home Mission Service; Aug. 30, evening worship; and Aug. 31, Sunday School, followed by morning worship.

Volunteers needed

Organizers are in need of singers, musicians, dancers and volunteers for the 1000 Voices of North Central Florida concert.

The concert is scheduled to be held on Feb. 27 at Westside Baptist Church in Gainesville. Proceeds from the concert will benefit individuals and organizations in Alachua, Bradford, Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Jefferson, Lafayette, Leon, Levy, Madison, Marion, Suwanee, Taylor, Union and Wakulla counties.

Organizers will form adult and youth choirs, a male chorus, praise ensemble, dance, mime and volunteer ministry teams.

Friendship Baptist Church will celebrate Family and Friends Day.

The service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church at 426 NW 2nd St.

Benefit breakfast

One Church One Child of Florida Inc., in collaboration with Partnership for Strong Families, Florida Department of Children and Families and Greenhouse Church, will host a free prayer breakfast.

It will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Greenhouse Church at 2925 NW 39th Ave.

Pastor Karl "The Rev." Anderson, co-senior pastor at Upper Room Church of God in Christ in Gainesville, will be the guest speaker. The UR Praise Dancers will perform, as well as soloist Shequel Smith of Upper Room. Breakfast will be prepared by the UR Catering Ministry.
