The parents of a 7-year-old boy were arrested early Friday morning after police alleged their child wandered away from home while they were drinking at a bar.

The boy left his home at 1208 NW 44th Ave. just after midnight because he woke up to an empty house and got scared, according to a Gainesville Police Department arrest report.

He knew his parents went to the Sonoco gas station around the corner frequently, so he walked there in his pajamas, according to the report.

When he arrived, the police were called and an officer went to the boy's home, where police learned the names of his parents: Joshua S. Brown, 34, and Mary K. Frazzetto, 25.

The two were found intoxicated at the Gambler's Saloon at 4401 NW Sixth St. and were driven by officers back to their home.

The report states Brown and Frazzetto both said they had a baby-sitter, though their descriptions of her were different and neither could give contact information for her. The child said his parents never hired a baby-sitter.

Brown and Frazzetto were arrested on felony charges of child neglect. They were booked into the Alachua County jail, where they remained Friday afternoon.
