Williston High principal Eulin Gibbs has promoted Larry Walker to boys varsity basketball coach after years as an assistant and junior varsity coach at the school. Walker replaces Steve Faulkner, who resigned in early July to become head basketball coach at Columbia.

“He is a student of the game and has been mentored under two great coaches at WHS,” Gibbs said. “Not only has a passion for the game of basketball but a big heart for helping kids succeed. His stated goal is to lead WHS into the playoffs every year and compete for a state championship.”

Under Faulkner, the Red Devils reached four straight regional finals and the 2010 3A state semifinals. Williston dropped to 1A in 2013-14.
