35 … Number of appearances on ESPN’s GameDay.
Although the college football pregame show feels as if it has been around forever, it wasn’t until 1993 that it went on the road, traveling to South Bend, Ind., for a game. And it wasn’t until 1995 that it visited Florida when the Gators hosted Florida State.
The Gators certainly don’t seem to mind the attention — they’re 24-11 in games where GameDay shows up and have won nine of their last 10.
The 12 games Florida has played host to on campus are the most in the SEC and trail Ohio State by one for the most in the country. Florida has played 14 games on the road in front of the ESPN mini-celebrities (going 4-0 at Tennessee) and nine games at a neutral site (3-0 against Georgia).
There has only been one time when UF was unranked and GameDay came to town — in 2002 when the Gators faced Georgia.
Florida’s last appearance on GameDay came on Nov. 20, 2012, when the Gators hosted South Carolina. Florida was on three times that season, but the most appearances in a season was four in 1997.
