A Gainesville man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after police reported that he sexually battered a girl three years ago.
The girl told the Gainesville Police Department that in May 2011, Orion Marshall, 22, of 1101 SE 15th St., pulled her clothes off, raped her and made her touch his genitals, an arrest report said. At the time, Marshall was 19 and the girl was under 10.
After he was arrested, Marshall told police he was wrestling with the girl when the alleged incident happened. Marshall said he had "allowed" the girl to touch him but that there was no penetration, the report said.
Marshall was arrested on one count of sexual battery by a person over 18 years old on a victim under 12 years old and one count of lewd and lascivious behavior, according to the report. He was taken to the Alachua County jail, where he remained Thursday in lieu of $175,000 bond.
