A Newberry man was arrested Tuesday night after police said he fired two shots from a handgun during an altercation stemming from an earlier fight outside a Gainesville apartment.
Corderro T. Williams, 26, of 720 NW 255th Drive, went to an apartment in the Woodland Park complex at 1900 SE Fourth St. at around 11 p.m. to confront the people involved in an earlier fight involving his sister-in-law, according to a Gainesville Police report.
Williams pulled up his shirt to reveal a silver pistol, and witnesses told police he pulled the gun and walked toward some people yelling, “I got this, bring it on.’’
As the witnesses and victims ran to their apartments for safety, they reported hearing two gunshots, the report said. The victims later identified Williams as the person with the gun.
Williams, who was listed as Corderro Jackson on his arrest report, was being held on two charges of aggravated assault at the Alachua County jail on $200,000 bond.
