No. 18 A'Shawn Robinson
Position: Defensive end
Weight: 320 pounds
Why he's No. 18: Robinson was a highly recruited lineman who seemed to get better with every game for the Tide last year. He was versatile enough to play both defensive end and nose guard for Alabama.
To show how strong his freshman season was, he was named first-team freshman All-American.
Robinson had eight tackles for a losses as a freshman playing mostly at defensive end and was a force for a defensive line that sometimes struggled to generate a pass rush.
Robinson has no shortage of confidence as he told teammates on his arrival that he planned to win the Heisman Trophy.
This year, Robinson is expected to be a starter at one end and the word out of the spring practices was that he was unblockable, quick enough to get around the corner and powerful enough to bull-rush offensive linemen.
With a chin-strap beard, he looked older than your typical freshmen last year and as a sophomore appears poised to become the next great defensive lineman out of a school that has a track record for producing them.
