The Florida Board of Governors, the body overseeing the state university system, today confirmed the appointment of David Brandon -- a Pinellas County builder and University of Florida fundraiser -- to the University of Florida Board of Trustees. "David Brandon's business experience, community service and commitment to the University of Florida will serve him well in his role as a trustee," UF President Bernie Machen said in a news release.
Brandon is a 1981 graduate of UF’s Rinker School of Building Construction. He’s the founder of Brandon Construction Company in Palm Harbor, a company he started in 1983, according to his LinkedIn page.
According to UF, Brandon is a committed fundraiser and charter member of the School of Building Construction Advisory Council. “He also serves as a contributory member of the College of Engineering Structural Wind Mitigation Design Advisory Panel and the University of Florida School of Building Construction Executive Committee,” a news release said.
