A Lake City woman was seriously injured Thursday morning when she drove into the back of a concrete mixer truck in Columbia County, reported the Florida Highway Patrol.

Kelli Spradley Potter, 31, was taken by helicopter to UF Health Shands Hospital in serious condition, FHP stated in a press release.

The accident occurred about 7:55 a.m. on County Road 240 east of Ichetucknee Avenue.

A 2007 Mack concrete mixer driven by Fred J. Crews, 58, of Lake City was slowly heading east with its hazard lights on to pull off the side of the road. Potter, driving a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe, was behind Crews.

The report states she failed to see the truck and drove into it.

Crews possibly had a minor injury and remained at the scene, troopers said.
