List of nominees for UF president grows to 15

Seven new names have been added to the list of nominees to be the next president of the University of Florida, bringing the total now to 15.

The board of trustees is conducting a search for a successor to Bernie Machen, the 11th president of UF, who is retiring this year.

The search is being managed by the Miramar-based executive search firm of Greenwood-Asher and Associates for $95,000.

The latest nominees are:

• Anthony Frank, president of Colorado State University.

• Mark A. Fuller, dean of the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts.

• Zvi Galil, dean of Computing at Georgia Tech.

• Pramod P. Khargonekar, a UF engineering professor and assistant director of engineering for the National Science Foundation.

• Michael V. Martin, chancellor, Colorado State University System.

• Michael A. Middleton, deputy chancellor and law professor, University of Missouri-Columbia.

• Wei Shyy, executive vice president and provost, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
