League commissioner Mike Slive announced Tuesday that the 2018 SEC men's basketball tournament is going to be played in St. Louis and the 2022 tournament will be held in Tampa at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.

“With Nashville (in 2015-17, 2019-21 and 2023-25), that fills us up through 2025,” Slive said.

Slive also said the league's athletic directors have decided to stick with an 18-game league schedule.

“But they want to move from one permanent (opponent) to three permanents,” Slive said. “One of those three will be the existing permanent. The two others will be decided over the next several months.”

UF's existing permanent opponent is Kentucky. Georgia and Tennessee could be the Gators' two additional permanents.
