The No. 3 Florida softball team will play its final home series of the regular season this weekend against No. 15 Missouri.
Games will be at 6 p.m. today, 1 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday at Katie Seashole Pressly Softball Stadium.
Florida is 41-8 (11-7 SEC), while Missouri has a 36-12 (12-6 SEC) record.
“It starts for us in the circle,” UF coach Tim Walton said. “We'll have to be good with Lauren (Haeger), Hannah (Rodgers) and Delanie (Gourley). We need them to pitch well and do the little things well in the circle. That really propels our offense and gives us a good chance to win ballgames.”
Men's golf: For the 14th consecutive year, the men's SEC Championship will be played at Sea Island Golf Club's Seaside Course on St. Simons Island, Ga., starting today.
Florida wrapped up regular-season play at the Old Waverly Collegiate at the beginning of the month, taking home a fourth-place finish with two Gators claiming top-20 performances.
“We've actually played a little better lately in the last tournament and also in practice this week and I'm optimistic we will go up there and have a good tournament,” UF coach Buddy Alexander, who announced this week this was his last season as Gator coach. “It's the SEC, it's a terrific venue with an unbelievable atmosphere and every kid in this tournament is going to be really excited to play. I think one of the keys is to sit back and relax and play your own game. See where it takes you.”
Men's tennis: UF senior Florent Diep, sophomore Gordon Watson and freshmen Maxx Lipman and Elliott Orkin were recognized by SEC coaches, who announced their annual postseason awards.
Diep was named first-team All-SEC and Watson and Lipman were voted second-team All-SEC. Lipman and Orkin made the All-Freshman team.
Women's tennis: Florida's Alexandra Cercone, Olivia Janowicz, Brianna Morgan and Sofie Oyen were recognized by the SEC coaches.
Cercone, Janowicz and Morgan were named first-team All-SEC performers and Oyen was voted to the second team.
The NCAA Tennis Selection Show is scheduled for Tuesday. The men's show begins at 5 p.m. and the women's at 5:30 p.m. on NCAA.com.
