In a move to make football game days an overall better experience for the fans, the University of Florida is implementing the Gators Fan Advisory Council, which will be comprised of about 12 season ticket holders.
"We have evaluated and continue to address how we can connect our fans to our program," UF athletic director Jeremy Foley said. "This is another step in that direction."
The council will meet quarterly with UF administrators and staff concerning the overall game day experience.
Applicants for the council must be at least 21 years of age, with the exception of University of Florida undergraduate students, who must have completed their freshman undergraduate term by May 2014 and have been student season-ticket holders for the 2013 football season and entered the lottery for the 2014 season.
Members of the council will serve an athletic year, beginning in July 2014.
Applications are open and will be accepted until April 28. The application form can be accessed at gatorzone.com/fancouncil.
