The Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce is taking applications through April 30 for an expanded Leadership Gainesville class to start in August.
Leadership Gainesville is a 10-month leadership development program. Participants meet monthly with people in the community representing business, law, religion, civic groups, the arts, minority organizations, education, health care, government, human services and volunteer organizations, according to a news release.
For the 40th annual class now in session, the program added a leadership development day, discussions on complex community issues at the end of each session, and speakers from the region and state who discussed challenges and opportunities in government, policy and economic development.
For the 41st class, the program is expanding from 40 to 50 participants.
Tuition is $1,575 for Chamber members and $1,875 for nonmembers. Financial assistance is available.
