Coming off a weekend sweep at Tennessee, the No. 6/7 Florida softball team looks to get back to its winning ways as it hosts eighth-ranked Florida State at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Katie Seashole Pressly Softball Stadium.

The Gators (31-7, 5-7 SEC) are undefeated in 26 games this season against non-conference opponents and also own an 11-game winning streak against the Seminoles (34-4, 12-2 ACC), dating back April 5, 2006.

Florida sophomore Kelsey Stewart provided a bright in the Gators’ weekend series loss in Knoxville, Tenn., with five hits over three games. She has reached base in all 38 games this season, setting a UF single-season record for the longest reached-base streak.

Sophomore outfielder Kirsti Merritt also did well from the plate, hitting three home runs in the four games, including her second career multi-homer game in a 7-6 loss to the Vols on Sunday.

Following their midweek contest against FSU, the Gators open an SEC weekend series at home against No. 19 Auburn on Friday at 6 p.m.
