COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Cole Lankford snapped a 3-3 tie with a two-out RBI single down the right-field line in the 11th inning that lifted Texas A&M (17-8, 3-3 SEC) to a series-clinching 4-3 triumph over Florida’s baseball team (15-9, 3-3) on Sunday afternoon at Blue Bell Park.

After dropping Friday night’s opener in 11 innings, the Aggies posted a pair of one-run victories to secure the series.

UF pitcher Aaron Rhodes (2-1) matched his career-best with six strikeouts but suffered the loss in his solid relief effort of six innings.

Danny Young was summoned for Rhodes and surrendered the game-winning hit to Lankford.

Casey Turgeon had a two-out single that brought across Josh Tobias in the third, Richie Martin had an RBI groundout in the fourth and Justin Shafer knotted the game at 3-3 in the ninth with a squeeze bunt single that plated pinch runner Ryan Larson.

The Aggies got to left-hander Bobby Poyner in the first inning on a two-out RBI single by Mitchell Nau.

Poyner went 4 2/3 innings, surrendering 11 hits and three earned runs.

The Gators will face No. 1 Florida State (19-4/7-2 ACC) on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Jacksonville at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

The game will be broadcast on Sun Sports and 103.7 FM.
