A Lake City woman was killed Wednesday morning when she drove into the oncoming traffic lanes on Interstate 10 and was hit by a tractor-trailer, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Christina Ann Fields, 51, was driving a 2002 Saturn four-door westbound in the inside lane at about 8:37 a.m. She drove off the road, into the center median and then into the eastbound lanes, the report said.

James Gregory Rose, 52, of Conyers, Ga., was driving a 2004 Freightliner eastbound in the outside lane and hit the front of Fields’ car.

Fields died at the scene. Rose was taken to Lake City Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries and released.
