Power was knocked out briefly at several locations on the University of Florida campus Monday afternoon following an electrical fire, UF officials said.
A small transformer blew outside the Nanoscale Research lab on Center Drive around 4:20 p.m., causing a small fire, Major Brad Barber said.
"When it blew ... it tripped off breakers around campus," Barber said. The fire was extinguished by 5 p.m..
By 5:30 pm, maintenance had restored power to all but the nanoscale building, he said.
