Stormy beginning to week gives way to limited sun

Showers are likely this week, with a sunny respite predicted on Thursday and Friday.

A 60 percent chance of rain is expected Monday, with the majority of showers likely before 9 a.m., according to the National Weather Service in Jacksonville.

Storms will subside by the evening, but skies will remain cloudy. Temperatures will range from the mid-70s to the mid-50s on Monday and Tuesday.

Storms are less likely during the day on Tuesday, with a 20 percent chance predicted. Chances will elevate to 40 percent at night.

A 50 percent chance of rain is predicted for Wednesday morning. High temperatures will reach 68. Wednesday night will bring a 20 percent chance of rain and a low around 40 degrees.

Temperatures highs will drop to 60 on Thursday while lows stay around 40.

The sun will emerge on Thursday and Friday, with partly cloudy skies expected at night.

Highs will rise to 67 Friday, with lows expected in the high-40s at night. Weekend temperatures will stay in the same range.
