A cold front Friday afternoon will blow through North Central Florida, bringing gusty winds and lots of rain, according to the National Weather Service.

The front will remain stationary south of the area, so the rain will continue throughout the weekend.

“Tomorrow afternoon, it looks like we may have strong winds with thunder and lightning. The wind could be 30-40 mph gusts, and possibly stronger,” said meteorologist Matt Zibura with the NWS in Jacksonville. “By tomorrow evening, it should be through, but the front is going to stall south of us, so there will be a lingering chance of rain.”

The chance of rain is 60 percent Friday, 30 percent Saturday and Sunday and 40 percent Monday. High temperatures will be in the 70s and lows in the 50s.
