Oak Hall athletic director Jeff Malloy announced Monday that Drew Schaeffer has been named volleyball coach, replacing Cari Martin who retired in December after 26 years. Schaeffer had been volleyball coach at Ocala West Port where he led the Wolf Pack to their first district title in 2012, winning a school-record 21 games.

“Obviously Drew has big shoes to fill, but we are excited about what he brings to the table,” Malloy said. “Drew was universally liked by parents, students and administration during the interview process and already has the support of the volleyball community.”

Martin won 581 games and a pair of state titles at Oak Hall. For the past five years, Schaeffer has also coached at Gainesville Juniors.
