A Gainesville man was arrested Friday night on allegations he hit a woman just after she told him she was pregnant with his child, according to a Gainesville Police Department report.

Corey Dwayne Williams, 30, of 3308 SW 26th Way, Apt. A, was charged with aggravated battery on a pregnant woman, the arrest report states.

Williams and the woman have been in a relationship since about Jan. 21. They began arguing when she told him she was pregnant and was sure he was the father. The report states he hit her in the face with his hand. She went home and called police, the report adds.

The officer reported seeing noticeable swelling and discoloration on her face.
