Burglars hit Lake City store, steal $40,000 in phones

Lake City police are searching for two men they say broke into a T-Mobile store on Sunday and stole $40,000 worth of phones.

An alarm company contacted the Lake City Police Department at 6:21 a.m. to day there were two burglary suspects inside the store at 3529 NW Bascom Norris Drive, according to a report.

Officers arrived at 6:25 a.m. but the suspects were gone, the report stated.

A store employee arrived to conduct an inventory and reported that all of the phones in the store with the exception of two had been stolen. The value of the stolen phones is estimated at $40,000, the report.
