While most people’s biggest dilemma will be trying to figure out which Super Bowl party to go to today, one Gainesville resident will only have to worry about how to stay warm at MetLife Stadium.

Christopher Kokinda, an employee at My Office Products, won a contest hosted by entertainment marketing and promotions platform Viggle to go to the NFL’s marquee event.

The reward for winning the MyGuy Challenge was two tickets to the game, lodging, airfare and the opportunity to meet MyGuy Commissioner and Miami Dolphins Hall of Famer Dan Marino.

The challenge is part of a real-time fantasy sports game played within the Viggle mobile app, which is available on iOS and Android devices. Kokinda beat out more than 100,000 players by competing with other users in a playoff challenge.

Instead of preset games where the player has no control, Viggle allows users to make in-game decisions — like whether Peyton Manning will throw for a touchdown or run for it — to earn points.

The 47-year-old said he found out about the app six months ago when a co-worker introduced him to it. He had been doing well in the games leading up to the app, but he didn’t expect to beat out such a large number of people to win the grand prize, Kokinda said.

Clyde Lee, the Director of Marketing for Viggle, said this is the second year in a row a Super Bowl trip has been given away. Some of the other prizes won through the app include a trip to Hawaii and a contest involving American Idol.

Kokinda added he has never been to New York and is excited to explore the city. The co-worker who introduced him to Viggle will also be getting a reward as Kokinda is taking him as his guest.

“No (I’ve never been to the Super Bowl),” he said. “I’m a die-hard Browns fan and that was the only reason I would go, but they’re never going to make it. I’m not supposed to like Denver, but I think they’re going to win and I like Peyton Manning, so my pick is Denver.”
