RISK CINEMA RETURNS:

The hypnotically beguiling film, “Patience (After Sebald),” marks the return Tuesday of Risk Cinema, the monthly series of experimental films at the Harn Museum of Art. “Patience” recounts German writer W.G. Sebald's acclaimed novel, “The Rings of Saturn,” and was filmed in black and white by British documentarian Grant Gee (“Joy Division”).

THEATER:

Darren Willis' original play, “The Peppermint King,” recounts a journey from Ukraine in the 1920s to a magical land, through Feb. 9 at the Acrosstown Repertory Theatre.

The Actors' Warehouse production of Katori Hall's “The Mountaintop” reimagines the night before the assassination of Martin Luther King in which the civil rights leader encounters a stranger at the Lorraine Motel.
