A Lake City woman who police say pinned her husband between two cars on Monday before shooting him in the leg and driving off surrendered to authorities Wednesday night.

Ruby L. Sheppard, 33, drove into the parking lot of Annie Mattox Park around 6 p.m. Monday during festivities honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and went at her husband, Anthony Sheppard, 43, according to a Lake City Police report.

After pinning him between her 2004 Cadillac and another car, she got out of the car and after arguing with Sheppard, she got a gun from her car and pistol whipped him, police said. She then shot him once in the left leg before driving off.

At about 9 p.m. Wednesday, she surrendered at the Columbia County Detention Center where she was arrested on charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault. She was being held at the jail without bond on Thursday.
