The average price for a gallon of gas nationwide is holding steady at about $3.30 and experts expect pump prices to remain stable for the remainder of the month as multiple factors place equal pressure on oil prices.
"Motorists should see pretty stable gas prices this month,” Jessica Brady, AAA spokesperson, said on Monday.
"Gas prices in the Southeast are slightly cheaper than they were this time in 2012, whereas the national average is the same as last year."
The national average for a gallon of regular, unleaded gasoline is 1 cent less than last week. Florida's average of $3.39 fell 3 cents from last week. Georgia's average of $3.21 fell 2 cents from last week.
In Gainesville, the average price for a gallon of gas on Monday was $3.47, down 1 cent from last Monday. In Ocala, the price was $3.37, down 3 cents from last week.
