Alachua County Library District hosts special guests and seasonal programs for children of all ages, including author visits, doll making, origami, Legos, board games, tea parties and more.

ALACHUA BRANCH

■ Preschool Storytime: Stories, songs and dance for preschoolers ages 1-5, 11:15 a.m. Thursday, and Jan. 23, 30, Feb. 6, 13, 20 and 27.

■ Level Up! Tabletop Gamers Club: Bring snacks, hang out, nerd out and have fun playing games including D&D, Magic: the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh! or even Munchkins, ages 5-18, 4 p.m. Monday, and Feb. 3, 10 and 24.

■ Lego Club: Preteens (ages 5-11) meet to create challenging structures, 3 p.m. Tuesday, and Jan. 21, 28, Feb. 4, 11, 18 and 25.

■ Chinese Dancing Lion Mask Craft: Local artist Elsa Chui will help participants of all ages create a beautiful dancing lion mask and celebrate the Chinese New Year, 3 p.m. Friday.

■ Teen Wii Gaming: Play Nintendo Wii games, ages 12-18, 5 p.m. Wednesday, and Jan. 22, 29, Feb. 5, 12, 19 and 26.

■ Slime and Scales: Morningside Nature Center will introduce kids to both live and preserved Florida amphibians and reptiles, ages 5-11, 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
