Hunters Crossing is one of several possible locations Tipple’s Brews is considering for a new store if it decides to open a second location this year, co-owner Cale Flage said.
Flage was responding to a Saturday report in The Sun that said Tipple’s plans to open in Hoggtowne Music’s current location in Hunters Crossing after the musical instrument store moves into the space that is going to be vacated by Deb’s Hallmark, which is closing.
The owners have created a new limited liability company, Tipple’s Brews of Millhopper, which lists the current Hoggtowne location at 5200 NW 43rd St. Suite 501 as the principal address. Flage said the LLC was created as a requirement for a loan application but that the business had not had discussions with Hunters Crossing about leasing the space.
He said Tipple’s is considering a lot of locations, including outside of Gainesville, and will have a better idea about future plans in February.
“We’re not even 100 percent sure it’s even going to happen this year,” he said.
Flage and Matthew Feagin opened Tipple’s Brews in December 2009 in Tower 24 at Tower Road and Southwest 24th Avenue. The store offers craft beer, wine and cigars.
